Chiesa di Santa Rita alle Vergini is a small, quiet church tucked on Via dell’Umiltà, founded in the 17th century and later dedicated to Saint Rita of Cascia. From the street it looks modest and fits into the narrow city blocks; inside, the space feels intimate and calm, used mainly by locals for Mass and private prayer rather than big tourist crowds.
The church contains a notable 17th–18th century altarpiece of Saint Rita that draws attention at the main altar, along with several devotional paintings and statues in the side chapels reflecting Baroque devotional taste. The overall decoration is restrained but warm—marble details, frescoed surfaces, and devotional imagery create a peaceful atmosphere centered on prayer and the example of Saint Rita.
